FOVEA

control

I finally got around to watching Anton Corbjin’s “Control” which is a biopic about Ian Curtis of the influential band Joy Division. As a huge fan of Joy Division, I was happy to see Curtis and his music honored as only a music video director can. Sam Riley perfectly portrays the rise and inevitable fall of Curtis as he struggled with depression, epilepsy and the pressures of life and fame. The film proves as a testament to the impact of Curtis and Joy Division, who only released 3 studio albums and yet have continued to influence the sound and style of music today.
